Sophie Little

My artwork intends to explore a personal journey into the human conditions of nurture and self doubt, in an attempt to recognize my own identity as an artist, a daughter and as a human. From my initial experimental video, I have developed a series of works that have been created around the same concept of experiencing a personal lack of self worth, entitled ‘I’m not good enough’.

The visual images are carefully selected to capture smaller details within mundane environments. Every image aims to keep important information hidden at the edge of the frame or to be gradually unfolded through a slowly spoken narrative. Many artists that have inspired my work and have been influenced by slow, detailed cinema such as Chantal Akerman and Melanie Manchot. Film Directors such as Lynne Ramsay, Bela Tarr and Ingmar Bergman also play a key role in my research[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_text_separator title=”Other Artists”][/vc_column][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vcex_portfolio_grid columns=”6″ columns_gap=”5″ equal_heights_grid=”true” posts_per_page=”60″ img_size=”medium” overlay_style=”title-category-hover” title=”false” excerpt=”false” read_more=”false”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row]
