“Gregor Samsa’s room reimagined”
I was lying in bed, but couldn’t sleep and everything still seemed strange and unfamiliar. The street light was casting shadows here and there in the room on the groups of objects which surrounded me. As I focused on the five groupings of things and the shapes the shadows were making, I began to get a sense of deja vu. As I began to connect to my belongings I turned on my light, and began to draw each group of objects with an urgent desire to capture the moment familiarity came back.
The concept of “Gregor Samsa’s room reimagined” came out of my impulse to realise that moment of re-emergence.
